Campbell, Cains, Muldoon, McCann, Callaghan, Gentle
« on: Wednesday 16 June 10 04:25 BST (UK) »
Joseph CAMPBELL born about 1772 Magheracross, Fermanagh Ireland married Jane CAINS born about 1776 Magheracross, Fermanagh Ireland.

Am trying to find Joseph and Jane's parents/grandparents.

I know they had a son Robert CAMPBELL born 12 November 1784 Fermanagh. He married Bridget McCANN about 1814 Ireland. They travelled to NSW Australia on the “Susan” with their 4 sons on 10 March 1839.

John CAMPBELL born 1 May 1818 Fermanagh.
Samuel CAMPBELL born November 1821 Fermanagh.
Robert CAMPBELL Jnr born 12 September 1823 at Magheracross Fermanagh.
Thomas CAMPBELL born 1 May 1826 at Magheracross Fermanagh.

Robert's daughter Jane Campbell born 31 March 1812  Drumsole, m. Thomas Muldoon in 1833.  Jane and Thomas Muldoon sailed to NSW Australia aboard 'Adam Lodge' in 1837 with their 2 boys and 2 girls.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello there, did you ever get the answer to your questions on Joseph and Robert Campbell's parents?  I am directly descended from Robert and have been unable to verify his birth or that of Joseph.  Can you assist me with anything that you have?  I am very happy to share the tree from Robert down to modern times - it is an interesting tale.  Deborah Monaghan (nee Campbell)

Hi there, thanks for the site recommendation - we have the right family. They were shoemakers.   I have pretty good info from Robert down to modern times - it is the circumstances of his arrival and confirmation of his parents and the original Irish roots that I am stuck on.  Also, Jane Campbell had many children by many different fathers - would love to work out all that over time.  Deborah

My great great  grand mother was Mary Muldoon (one of Jane' s daughters) she married John Price and had 16 children, the. Youngest was my grand father Benjamin died in the 1930'S. He married Clara May Gordon. My father John was the ? Second youngest of 7 children.
My sister and our families know very little  about the Price or the Gordon families. We never meet either grandparent or any other relatives

I am descended from Robert Campbell, Jane's father.  Are you sure that your relative Mary Muldoon married John Price as there is also some evidence that Jane Campbell was living with a John Price - I do hope it was not the same one, but Jane did have many husbands and partners, so it is a possibility.
