I am doing a bit of Galloon research. Don't know how relevant Dernish Island is to myself though.
I was down in Fermanagh doing research on the Downey line.
My Great Great Grandfather/Grandmother was James Downey/Sarah Downey (Nee Rice). They are both buried in Sallaghy Church graveyard. They were resident in the townland of Derrylea.
I note that James' sister Catherine was married to a James Clingan who had a two children (at least in my records) Amelia Clingan and John Clingan. They were resident in Derrylea too as far as my research shows. Though they both got married in St. Anne's Cathedral in Belfast. A lot of the Downeys seemed to have moved to Belfast but eventually returned to Fermanagh, specifically the Lisnaskea area.
I can't remember exactly but I am nearly certain that when I was in Aghadrumsee Church that I saw a few Clingan graves.
Willing to share my other Downey research, feel free to PM.
