BARNES family in Canada, BC

I'm trying to find info on any children or decendants of
John William BARNES and Lillian Elvira Barnes (nee Louma). John died in Revelstoke, BC in 1957, and Lillian died in 1977 in Salmon Arm, BC. Both are buried in Revelstoke, along with John's parents.

Any help or info much appreciated.

Hello Andy.

Probably the best place for you to post your information would be on the Canada board.  Although from looking at the British Columbia Death Record for John William Barnes he was born 1921. The Canadian Census only go up to 1911 although there is a 1916 for Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta. Canada have very strict privacy laws so I am not sure what you may be able to find out.  They have fabulous researchers on the Canada board with expert knowledge and if anyone can help it would be them.  Hope you are successful.

Some sites you can check for living relatives are an on-line telephone directory

You can check at with the public library and see if they can do an obituary lookup for you as you have the dates of death.
Okanagan Regional Library

If you have access to the death certificates, it may list the informant and that could be a living relative.

You should contact Ali Graham in Sicamous, B.C. she was Bill Barnes' sister-in-law.  Her sister was Bill's wife.  Ali has written a book called "Life is What happens". It has a chapter all about Bill Barnes.
