Have only just found that this gentleman may be a relation but very vague so far

Harry McKay d BC (Erickson) 1970 spouse Beatrice Walker, parents Harry McKay & Sarah Alice Richardson

Harry McKay BC deaths (no def date, poss 1935), Spouse Sarah Alice Richardson, son Harry McKay

1911 Census Sarah McKay Lambeth London
                      Harry McKay Lambeth London

1902 Birth Harry McKay Lambeth London

1902 Marriage Harry McKay & Sarah Alice Richardson Chelsea London

1878 Birth Sarah Alice Richardson Chelsea London

I'm pretty sure this lady was my grandad's aunt.

Is anyone else researching these people?

I found a Harry McKay who dies in 1935, might be the older one...he died in "Keefers" BC. I've looked at this on Google Earth and it looks like just a farm or small collection of buildings, references on the web mention it in relation to the CPR. If it is such a small place maybe I could find out more about this chap to see if he's "mine"? I found a photo mentioning a "H Mackey" as CPR engineer at North Bend which might be him?

"H Mackey" is the middle one in the back row, don't have a date for the photo

Some sites for you to look for the name McKay, MacKay, MacKey. These sites will help you with deaths and cemetery look-ups.

http://search.bcarchives.gov.bc.ca/sn-5812C9A/gbsearch/Deaths

http://www.deathindexes.com/canada.html

McKay and alternative spelling very common so the search will not be easy.

Have you found this person on an incoming passenger list. If not, you could check out the ancestor's on board through find my past. Did Harry and Beatrice marry in the UK or Canada? Any other info that you find can help with the search.

There is a Beatrice MacKay buried Nanaimo, BC
Ref. BCGS-C-61
Buried with the same reference # are Andrew McKay, Hugh McKay and Janet McKay

If you think you have enough info on the death of Harry in 1970, you can contact the nearest public library that has an "Ask the Librarian" section and as for an obituary look-up on the person. That may give you information on living relatives, etc.

Thank you Valerie, I'll try those links. Not sure about the "Ask a librarian" option but will try that when I have a bit more time to get into it.
