Robert Panton's Parents
« on: Saturday 26 June 10 23:35 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find the parents and siblings of Robert Panton. He was born in Belchford Lincolnshire in abt. 1824 and he died in Horncastle Lincolnshire on 1st. September 1899.

I am getting nowhere with my efforts on A.......Y. I would be very grateful once again for advice.

Many thanks

Thanks very much Ricky.

I did a check on all the census years - and I missed that.

Hi

A tree on A****y has his parents down as John Panton and Elizabeth Atkins
There is a couple of deaths for a John Panton in 1840 Horncastle area, which is what Belchford  would come under. Plus on the 1841 there is a
Elizabeth Panton 40 widow born in county
John            "       8                               "
living at Horncastle Allotment, Horncastle, Lincs
H0107/ 637/ 12
folio 6
page 4

also there is this person
Rob Atkin Panton 18 M.S born in county
living in the house of  John Burman, and family at
Horncastle Allotment. Horncastle, Lincs

H0107/ 637/11
folio 6
page 4

Not saying this is correct, but might be worth a look at. I suspect when GeoffE logs on he might be able to help

Robert PANTON doesn't seem to be in the IGI batch for Belchford C026971.  However, there were several children of Wm and Elizabeth PANTON bap there from 1817 onwards.

A suitable marriage for that couple would seem to be
23 May 1816 Belchford
Wm PANTON to Elizabeth BROCKELSBY

EDIT:  There was a 1821 bap at Belchford for a George, son of John and Elizabeth PANTON, also 1818 Thomas PANTON

A John PANTON was buried at Horncastle 19 April 1840 aged 48

Ann PANTON was buried in Lincoln 7 Sept 1868 aged 45
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Thank you Geoff and Ricky for your help.

Gives me lots to work on, I think Robert may have been married twice?.

So many Pantons in Lincolnshire I keep getting confused.

Ah yes, could be :)

1) 21 June 1847 St Nicholas, Lincoln
Robt PANTON (son of John) to Anne THOMPSON (dau of Anthony)
2) 10 April 1870 St Swithin, Lincoln
Robert PANTON (son of John) to Caroline GRABY (dau of William)
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

Did he marry for the third time, his housekeeper Jane Ellis, looking at the 1881 and 1891 Census?
