Duncryne Cottage
« on: Monday 28 June 10 23:05 BST (UK) »
My Great Grandparents listed Duncryne on their wedding certificate as their place of residencein 1901. He Donald Paul farm hand and she Mary Fleming a dairy maid suggests they may have both lived and worked at the same property prior to their wedding. Was there a property called "Duncryne" if so is it still standing today?

Dail,  Duncryne is a wee hill near SE corner of Loch Lomond. Try this site, photo & map on same page
http://wheresthepath.googlepages.com/wheresthepath.htm
Type in Loch Lomond or Balloch , top left.     Skoosh.
Tried it out, find Balmaha, SE corner of the loch, go south to Gartocharn, Duncryne is just E, zoom in photo.

Dail, the places are High Duncryne to the south, which means there will be another Duncryne, Gartinbantrick to the east and Cambusmoon to the south west. There's an un-named property immediately to the west which could be it. You would need a bigger scale. I've climbed this hill, it's famous for its view of the islands, beautiful place to have come from.    Skoosh.
