Hello all,

Robert Petrie was born in 1833 at Glamis
He was the sixth child of eight, to parents Alexander and Barbara Petrie
In January 1860 he married Betsy Stark at Forfar
They then left for New Zealand.

I am trying to find the other siblings names, I would be so pleased of any help

Hi Leandra

Have you used IGI at www.familysearch.org? If you do a 'parent search' on the IGI search screen, it brings up a number of children for Alexander Petrie and Barbara Gibson (actual extracts from the Parish Registers for births and christenings).

On the IGI search screen, simply put in full names for father and mother on the r/h side and then at the bottom British Isles and Scotland. You should see 19 entries (births and christenings).

This looks to be the family in 1851 - younger children all born in Glamis:

Barbara Gibson 50 b. Forfar
Isabella Petrie 20 b. Forfar

Thomas Petrie 6
George Petrie 4

Alexander is working away from home in Milltown Glen of Ogilvie as a blacksmith apprentice.
