Help needed again - Herman DAVIES - conviction

Herman George Davies was convicted on a charge of conspiring to cheat and defraud for money in January 1915 and was sentenced to two years hard labour (as reported in The Sydney Morning Herald on 28 Jan 1915).   
How can I find out
1. If he served this sentence, and
2. Where he served?

Be grateful for any advise.

I wonder if he was an author.

There is man by the name in the NAA files .

His works seem to be connected to the tailoring profession (I think )

They may make interesting reading!

I dont know if he was an author, he was for a while in the tailoring trade though!
