Getting my grandmother's birth certificate

The census of 1901 says my grandmother Mary Mulvey was born at Ballymurry on November 29, 1889. The church records show she was babtized on July 21 1889 and she had said she was born on July 13, 1889. How do I find her birth certificateand how do I get a copy? Thansk in advance.

The only 1901 census I can think of that gives date of birth is Canadian one- did the family move there?

No, she moved to Boston, but someone tracked down the Irelenad census of 1901 and I have her name etc and her parents and siblings. I just don't know how to go from here to getting her birth certificate so I can get my Irish citizenship.

Ages, as in all Irish census records, given in years NOT an exact birthdate an birthplace in the county not the townland.
Did Mary marry in Massachusetts? If so, her marriage certificate should list parents although if you have her baptismal record you already know the parents' names.

You can apply through the GRO in ireland for the Birth Cert.

On the Family Search Website.. there is only a couple of Mary Mulvey's born in Roscommon in 1889

We have one born in Jul-Sept 1889 in the Carrick on Shannon district.
We have another Mary Anne Mulvey born in April/June 1889 in the Carrick On Shannon district

Thats it.. if you know her parents names then apply for the cert and put her parents name on it and the district. You can fax this to them which I find quicker to do.
