Copy hold estates and leasehold property
« on: Sunday 04 July 10 08:21 BST (UK) »
My ancestor's Will is dated 1822.  He mentions leasehold property and ground hold estates.  Can anyone please clear up what these would mean?  I have tried googling for these definitions but they are not detailed enough to give me a greater picture into the meaning associated with the time.  Please... anyone... help!!  :)

Hi Poly8455,

You can find some topics on Copyhold in the

Perhaps some of the descriptions there will help you :)
