Bridlington Harbour masters
« on: Thursday 08 July 10 17:00 BST (UK) »
I am hoping that someone will be able to point me in the right direction.
I am looking for details on John Campleman 1796 -1873.
He was harbour master at Bridlington from at least 1851 until his death 1873.
There is a book A Brief History of Bridlington Harbour by Christopher John Wright but i have been unable to get a copy.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Jane

Thanks Carol.
I live in Lancashire and have been unable to find a copy over here.
I know about the one in the East Riding Lending library but at the moment I am unable to get over.

Hi Jane....Don't give up...someone will be able to locate one for you....try The East Yorkshire Family History Centre or ask your library if they can loan a copy for you.
Good Luck!
Carol

Hi. If you email your address I'll post a copy of this booklet. Easily available in Bridlington. It's free too.

Many thanks for the book Mike which arrived today.
From it I did learn that John Campleman was Harbour Master from 1845 until his death in 1873.
Thanks again
Jane
