There is no mention of the DOWNINGS in the book but there is mention of a DOWNING street in South Normanton. I have checked Google maps and there still is a Downing Street.
I have checked Pinxton Parish registers and there is mention of the following DOWNING:-
Frances DOWNING married Arthur WRIGHT on 13 Apr, 1697 both were from South Normanton. Thats all. If you could find someone with the South Normanton Parish registers they may be able to help you further.  Regards Trevor

I only have one name which is Hanah Vallans born about 1795/1806 my 4th great grandmother, can't get no futher then her 

Have you any Hanah's in your tree?
