TIGHE WOMAN?
« on: Friday 01 April 05 09:58 BST (UK) »
On my 3xGt grandparents Marriage Certificate from November 1842 the brides mother's name is shown in the box marked for the fathers details and under the heading for Rank or Profession of Father it reads, or appears to read, Tighe Woman.

What sort of work is this?

Also does the fact that no fathers details are stated imply that the bride was illegitimate rather than meaning her father was dead?

Thanks for reading my query, Mobo.  There's just one problem now, I don't know how to post the image on here...
I understand I can't legally put the whole Marrage Certificate on this website, but that I should be able to put the undeciphered piece along with a bit more so the handwriting can be compared.
Thanks again, Carole

Carol if you go to the Technical Help Section - there are oodles of examples there showing how to add all sorts of images etc. etc.

Good luck
