This question comes up so often, wouldn’t it be a good idea to send a welcoming message to new members that mentions, among other things, the 3-post requirement for sending PMs?
Wiltshire:  Banks, Taylor
Somerset:  Duddridge, Richards, Barnard, Pillinger
Gloucestershire:  Barnard, Marsh, Crossman
Bristol:  Banks, Duddridge, Barnard
Down:  Ennis, McGee
Wicklow:  Chapman, Pepper

Wisconsin:  Ennis, Chapman, Logan, Ware
Maine:  Ware, Mitchell, Tarr, Davis

I tried to send a pm yesterday (both recipient & I have enough stars) & the system told me it didn't recognise the recipient's name-and vanished the text of the pm.  I tried again - & again the text vanished.
 I gave up -but I think the message got thru this evening when I tried.

In the past messages seemingly haven't appeared in the 'outbox' -so I've ended up sending them twice-duh.  The system seems straight-forward enough, but I wonder if it has quirks that users need to know?

It's a lovely idea, but the idea behind it is to prevent people registering to spam Rootschatters, so if we told them how to do it then it would defeat the purpose.
