1871 Look up Welford - KNIGHT (missing pages??)

 Hi,

Anyone have the 1871 census?

I logged on to ancestry.co.uk. to look for my ancestors in 1871 but couldn't find them although I believe they must be living Back Street, Welford,  they were there 1841, 1851, 1861, 1881, through to 1891.

They are  GEORGE and MARY KNIGHT,  GEORGE and SARAH KNIGHT.  Trying to find if George and Sarah had more children than Ellen and George.

I have the 1861 census and did a random search for other names living in Back Street Welford then went onto ancestry.co.uk to look in 1871 for them, but couldn't find any of the 15+ names.

Wondering if there are pages missing.

I am compiling a list of ALL KNIGHTs born in Northants prior to 1851 in the hope of tracking down my own John KNIGHT (great helpful first name!!!!!).
I have the full listing for Welford KNIGHTs in 1841 and have tracked some of these in 1871.
Are you interested ?
Would you be prepared to share info on your family for the 1851 census ? I have transcribed much of the 1851 census for KNIGHT entries but didn't include Welford so am missing yours and would like to add them in.

George Knight (31) father was George Knight c 1785, bp: Harborough, Leiceste
(my gggrandfather on paternal side).

I have a query for a William b in 1845 against George and Sarah (again no ref sorry) and a note that there are no bp for KNIGHT in Welford between 1813-1839 (SKS has done a look up) which is interesting given the ages, could they be non conformists?

I have found John in 1871 in Leicester a builder
Also William aged 8 b Welford residence in Lancs 1871 (no further details)

1881 Thomas b 1816 Welford head
Sarah b 1812 Welford head

I thought I had a ref to some of yours in Warwickshire in 1851 but it appears I got confused (easily done) with another family.
Can't see a marriage in northants for Thomas and Louisa but I would guess at Thomas and George being brothers. I have found no other KNIGHTs born in Welford in my partial transcription of 1851 but I have only checked the reg districts for Brixworth, Northampton, Hardingstone, Welligborough and Thrapstone which cover villages where most of the KNIGHT names were found in 1841. So if any of yours were lurking in Welford or neighbouring villages I wouldn't have found them.
Nor are there any other marriages in Welford aprat from George and Mary and none for any Knights given as of Welford except for George marrying Sarah at Cold Ashby.
My guess is that the rest of this KNIGHT family are probably living in Leicestershire still. From a quick look yours are also the only brickmaker/builders.
If you see any links to KNIGHT families in other NTH villages (eg you track down John and William in 1871 and find them with relatives) let me know and I'll do more checks.

Thanks for the info.

Thomas and George were brothers and were christened Independent, Welford, Thomas b: 31.3.1815, chr. 8.5.1815;  George b: 10.4.1819, chr. 16.5.1819.

Couldn't find chr. for their sister Sarah b: c 1812.

Thomas married Louisa Billing c 1836 in Welford.
Their first born was JOHN KNIGHT b: 10.5.1836, chr. 2.10.1836 Independent, Welford.

George Knight and Sarah King married April 20th 1841 Parish Church, Cold Ashby.

George and Thomas father George Knight was born  Leicester, Harborough, but haven't, as yet, gone any further back.

Have found 1871 living High Street, Husbands Bosworth, Leicester
