Germany 1945   Pte. P.L.L. August   6285948   Stalag 4A Hohenstein P.O.W. No. 274070

Any Liberation Report,if made, would be in WO344/11/2

I am also told that Upham VC managed to get out of Crete and was captured in N/Africa.

Perhaps a trip Northwards to Kew to check for a Liberation report and a try for a Service Record would be the most sensible way forward.
You have the Service No and Regiment which are very good starting points so the approach is much easier.

Unfortunately I have no plans to visit Kew at present but will note the Reference just in case.

             Savannah Publications still have the POW Lists in print. Three Volumes.
Other information comes from Kew.
