Sophie,

Have checked the Kellys Directory 1940 for Bartlam but nothing for the farm you mentioned.

There is however:-
1.  Bartlam Edward, Blurton Grange, Blurton, Longton, S o T.
2.  Bartlam W., Brownfields, Bucknall, S o T.

both farmers. Is this any help ?

pc99.

Hello Sophie came across this thread when researching my own family from the Potteries. In 1911 census my GG grandfather Thomas Sherwin lived at Colemoor Farm with his extended family that included His children Hannah, Alice and Enoch Sherwin. Also Enoch's wife Sarah and their children Elsie and Rowland. Thomas was listed as a Farm Worker so it is likely they were tenants and not owners of the farm.
