Epitaph by Burns
« on: Saturday 07 August 10 19:22 BST (UK) »
O ye whose cheek the tear of pity stains, draw near with pious rev'rence, and attend! Here lie the loving husband's dear remains, the tender father, and the gen'rous friend.*

*The above epitaph is on my 4 x great grandparents grave in Herefordshire (he died in 1829, she died in 1838), it was written by Robert Burns in 1784 for the Kilmarnock edition of his poems.

Does anyone know if this was a popular epitaph in use at the time?
