I read last week in my local newspaper monty found out he is closely related to his wifes first husband but, it wouldn't be shown

Yes it was interesting.I would have liked to hear about the Dons too. Perhaps they were ag labs - not!

Thoroughly enjoyed this progamme.  And I found Monty Don to be interesting and charming.  I am sure they could do a whole series on his interesting family!

Ah sorry to say sky messed up recording tonights episode.  No sign of repeat during the week? Athletics on the friday slot of last weeks repeat   Anyone spot another time?

I enjoyed it, Monty seemed genuinely interested. I think there was enough there for another programme.
I would love to go back in time to talk to Ann Hodge, what a strong character she must have had to up sticks & leave her family to go to the other side of the world.

Seriously, it was very interesting.  However I would have liked to have found out who ended up caring for the family after Ann stayed in NZ and the father died.  There's always so many little loose ends that no-one ties up....

Great episode, I loved the fact that he took notes and showed a genuine interest!

Also, what was this Religious Census that was mentioned, I've never heard of it.
