That was my top guess, but I just wanted to see what someone else thought. Going to NLI tomorrow, who only have from 1871 but it's a start for the moment.

Thanks  :)

Alicat,

I've got some people who lived close to there and they used Star of the Sea church in Sandymount.  Their records are not in the National Library but they do have them indexed, I believe.  I contacted them regarding a marriage - I already had the civil cert and they were very helpful.  Their records had both mothers maiden names, details of which parents were alive and addresses for parents, witnesses as well as the couple!

St Mary's, Haddington Rd (RC) is very near - it was constituted in 1876 from the "parish of Irishtown, Ringsend, Donnybrook and Sandymount"

before that I'd go with Star of the Sea as Purpeller says, which was constituted 1851 (maybe it has the old St Mary's records.)
