Bob,

Thanks  so much - we had real problems the other week trying to find somewhere that didn't insist on us staying two nights, but we found a place in the end. :)

I'd encourage anybody who wants to meet up with us to take up Bob's offer!

If somebody with local knowledge could suggest a place that can accomodate a group of us for lunch in the centre of York, then it would be appreciated.

Hi all,I will catch up with you at The Royal Oak,Jumbos is a good idea(eat as much as you like Chinese Buffet and there are 2 other restaraunts similar on the same street)
Be warned York town centre gets very busy and raucous on Saturday nights and most pubs get crowded.See you there,Pete

Jumbos sounds like a lot of fun but it takes quite a long time to eat chinese....

Is there any good cafes in the area that do tea and sandwiches ??
