Hi,

If you got to: http://www.maxwellancestry.com/census/51address.aspx you can search the census by address. Type Water Row in the address field, you will see a list of places in Selkirk with Water Row in the address. You will also see a link to view the property on Google maps.

If you click transcription you will see a full transcription and a link to historical maps as well as another link to Google maps.

Well I did look & although I found Water Row listing( many) but ploughed through them, found some info and although the listing gave notes on location, I could find Water Row marked on any map......but I know where abouts it is. So a good thing! Thanks again Emma

Water Row is the old high street. There is a sign on the wall outside the Old Douglas the booksellers in the Market Square junction with Ettrick Yerrace and going along the now High Street past the County Hotel to the Mungo Park memorial.

sweepdog. I have a copy of the 1817 census for Selkirk listing all the residents in Water Row and other streets. It was printed in the Border Counties Magazine Vol 1 1880-1881 pgs 161.  I think you would find it  on http;//www.cangenealogy.com/armstrong/selkirk1817.htm
