Hello ladies,

Now that I have read this and taken it in and have stopped crying...forwhatever reason that reading it confirmed of Louisa coming over and a ship etc seemed to have gotten to me.  I was very close to her before her death and this yr i got to witness the burial of the last surviving memeber for her (again she was my great aunt but she was our adoptive grandmother) and no even she didn't know where in england they were from.  It is puzzling as to not know ur parents details is beyond me.

I was able to search the census in australia today at the library and got the info about Stanley and where in australia they lived etc...there are no certificates no memorablia nothing of these ppl.  Sad

This has been a wonderful gift you ladies have given me today and yesterday.  As it was my grandfathers birthday yesterday, so it has been wonderful timing.

But yes...some purchasing of certs etc is now in order.  THANKYOU with all of my heart

Sue there is a cheaper option to purchasing certified certificates in NSW and that is to use a transcription agent.  The transcriptions are emailed to you.
http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/familyHistory/howToTraceYouFamTree.htm#TranscriptionAgent

I have found an Emily CLARKE with father Richard CLARKE on the 1901 census - can't find them on the 1891 census and will type it up later....must prepare the evening meal.   Emily's and Thomas's marriage cert would give you their parents' names - just to validate our findings so far.

I will type this up later with all the details.  1901 Census....all speculation :)

CLARKE Richard 45
CLARKE Emily 38
CLARKE Louisa 15
CLARKE Emily 10 born Chelsea, Middlesex
CLARKE Richard 8
CLARKE Edith 6
CLARKE Arthur 4
CLARKE Elizabeth 2
CLARKE Robert 10 months

Hello Ladies

I have now put all this info onto my ft online and wow it grew so quickly...Cando, If you are able to type up the 1861 & 1851 census that would be grt... and again Cando re Emily Clarke with father Richard, we knew this to be fact as my fathers name is Richard and was not he was named after his mothers grandfathers line.  So that would all line up

I have been to Freebdm.uk and have searched thru there and the search results do not come back with parents details for a birth or marriage and was wondering which records you are able to search to show all this to date...as I said I am relatively new to all this and still trying to find sites to help.

Already I feel I am going to have to find and join the Family Historian Annomynous group and admit that I am now a Family History Researcher ADDICTED...I am hooked... ;D

And this Index has Louisa and her mother arriving after Thomas??

Yes Essie I found out yesterday after talking to my father that he knew they came out on dif ships, this i find frustratrating considering I have asked him to tell me all he knew and he told me info but didn't add that bit, but he was surprised that with help i was able to find that info out.

So once again ladies many kind thanks for your help.

Not sure whether this will help, or be of interest, but I am pretty sure that the George ARTHUR mentioned earlier came out from Redruth, Cornwall. The living child who accompanied him and his wife on the Princess Royal was John ARTHUR  (b. circa 1845 in St Ann's Parish, Cornwall, died 3 August 1922) as reported in the "The People's Weekly" Moonta, 5 August 1922.George's first(?) wife was Catherine nee Lemell as mentioned earlier. She died 22 April 1847, about 5 weeks after arriving in Aust.
He married and had a large family with N Elizabeth WILLCOCK (sometimes sp Woolcock and Willcox in records).
After Elizabeth's death he married Susannah Catherine LENNELL, nee Phillips. The Lennell name was apparently Linnell in English records.  Susannah had a number of children, so the combined family was quite large.
George (married to Elizabeth Nickels / Nicholls / Nicolas) therefore not only had the siblings listed, but a half-brother and a number of step-brothers and step-sisters.
Maybe the family was quiet about forebears beause it was just too complex!  ;D
