To search for an Irish family/person before full registration (1864) you need to know both their religion and the place they lived (parish if not actual parish). See Introduction to Irish records-
www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,442233.0.html
The children's birth certificates should list Mary's maiden name and then with that you could trysearching for the marriage certificate.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hi Becky,
James and Mary Craig are my Gt. Gt. Grandparents through their son William.
I have the birth certificates of their oldest son John who was born in Edinburgh. On his cert. James and Mary stated they had been married the year before in Berwick-upon-Tweed, but they hadn't. I don't think they ever married. Mary was BROADLEY. She came from Kerry (or so she said) I have not been able to find the birth of James as there are so many of them in Ireland.
I have just sent to the GRO for James' birth cert. 1868 as I want to see Mary's Maiden name on it.
If I can help in any way I'd be very happy to exchange information with you. I saw your photos. I have no photos of my father's family except a few I was sent recently, so it was lovely to see some. Thank you. Kind regards Chris Bonney ne Craig.
