Any Info on surname Van Toll: 1851,1861?
« on: Monday 04 April 05 14:50 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I'm trying to locate a possible link between the surname name Van Toll and the Channel Islands.

There is a vague possibility of a connection to St Helier, Jersey, since there was a Van Toll family there in 1871 (Stopford Hall, 8 Stopford Road). I haven't linked that family to mine, but I'm wondering if they landed in the CI because of other family having lived there previously.

Could anyone check for the name for me in 51 and 61 please?

Thank you so verrry much!

KIrsty -

I looked for a Van Toll in the 1851 Jersey census index - but sorry, none present.
