Hi Cissy172,  I was very surprised to see your posting after such a long time - I have been working on other branches of the family and haven't done any research on the Radcliffe line for some months.  Yes I agree that this is a "poss"
for Bernard - would certainly explain his vanishing after 1841.

In perusing wot you have found it looks as tho it could be a second marriage for him.  First of all there is the large age gap between husband and wife, then the gap from son age 13 to daughter age 5.  Going on age of eldest listed daughter, he would have married first around 1844/5 at about 32 years old.  I will trawl thru marriages in UK again, but he possibly married in USA?

Frustration - trawled the marriages in Britain in 1840-1845 having regard to age of eldest daughter - no luck!  Can anyone see "passage to USA during that time?
