Kearns, Sheridan, Mortimer families,ROSCOMMON

I am hoping to visit where my ancestors came from. I am currently in Ireland from Australia.

In 1833  PHILIP MORTIMER, wife BRIDGET [nee Cairns/Kearns?] and their 3 CHILDREN – all Irish born, likely all from ROSCOMMON or nearby [from Bridget’s death certificate], emigrated to Glasgow.

Bridget's parents were JOHN CAIRNS,farmer, Roscommon, his wife MARY [nee SHERIDAN]
 
Daughter BRIDGET CAIRNS  born Roscommon [b.c. 1796    -  d. Glasgow 1855]  m. Philip MORTIMER  when and where? Both born Ireland.. Where Philip born?

1841 Scottish census:
BRIDGET  and Philip’s children:  Philip  was born in 1829. Ann and brother John  were born in 1826 and all from Ireland in 1841 census

Bridget’s death cert.:  Statutory Deaths 644/05 0156, 1855

Female age 58, Where born, how long in the district: Roscommon, 22 years in Glasgow [left Roscommon in 1833]. Father John CAIRNS Farmer, Mother Mary CAIRNS maiden name SHERIDAN. If deceased was married to whom: Philip Mortimer, a Nailor, Deceased. Bridget MORTIMER died:  1855, Feb 10th, Address: 81 Bridgegate st, Glasgow. Cause of death, How long disease continued: Consumption, 4 years. Burial place: Dalbeth, Glasgow. Signature of informant: John Mortimer: son, 1855 Feb 12th at Glasgow, John Strous? Registrar.

Ann McGough's [nee Mortimer] daughter was Helen/Ellen Hutton Hill [1848-1920] – married in Glasgow in 1875 to John  McGough b.1846 [whose father Francis was from Carrickmacross, Monaghan, b1818, left to Glasgow in 1841]

Thanks for any advice on how to find the original locations for where any of the above lived in Ireland, and also it would be fantastic to meet any descendants of those who stayed in Ireland.

I realise this is a very old post but did you get any further information about Phillip Mortimer? I have a Philip Mortimer but cant trace him further back. I cant prove he is the same Philip Mortimer as yours but the following of mine is intriguing. This is what I know:

1796-1799: Philip Mortimer joins the Pembrokeshore Militia as a substitute from St.Davids parish.
1796: Philip marries Ann Fitt in Norfolk. He is mentioned as being in the Pembrokeshore Militia.
1800: His son James is baptised in Plymouth. The Pembrokeshore Militia are stationed there at this time.

I then have no record of him. I know the Pembrokeshore Militia are in Ballinasloe between 1811-1813. I know an act was passed in 1811 that would have allowed Philip to move to an Irish Militia. I think his wife Ann dies in 1835 in Bitton, an area where James is living.
