Birth and 1901 census for Herbert Victor Ayliffe

Hi

I have a Herbert Victor Ayliffe b 1897 from his grave stone.

He died 1958 in Bishop Stortford.

He married Eileen Sarah Barker in 1925 at Bishop Stortford.

How ever I can't find a birth reg or 1901 census for him.

Can anyone help me out please ::)

Hi

His WW1 attestation (of 1916) actually names his mother as Annie Libbus AYLIFFE, of the Black Bull Inn, Bishops Stortford. Her unusual middle name may help in tracing her (and, indirectly, Herbert too).

He seems to have died as Victor H. P. AYLIFFE, aged 61 (Jun qtr 1958 Bishops Stortford 4b 26).
