George Langshaw
« on: Sunday 29 August 10 17:27 BST (UK) »
I have found a record in the Criminal Registers for 1855 for George Langshaw (Larceny - bad man!)

It is recorded in the March, Warwickshire Azzizes, he got 6 months if i'm reading it right!

Can anyone help with where I go next?  Are there local prison records for that area? etc etc,

You can visit the Warwick Records office (in Warwick, not too far from the castle) and view the records, many of which are held on micro film.   I went there a couple of months ago to look at the Prisoner Records of my gt gt grandfather (who committed the crime of Bastardy!) and it gave me quite a few details about my gt gt grandmother etc and I was able to take a photocopy.

You'll need to take some i.d. with you to obtain a Reader's Card -  details are on their website

Hi All,
Looks to me like your talking about the same man;
Mother Elizabeth remarries a Thomas FADDAMAN (1841 Census), Fiddaman on Marriage Reg 1839, after William dies.
George Marries Ellen TURNER 1858

George is Christened 16 Feb 1835, St John, Coventry, Warwickshire to William and Elizabeth
William married Elizabeth NEWBOLD, 28 July 1830, St John, Coventry
William LANGSHAW, Birth 1806, Burial 15 May 1838, St John, Coventry, Age 32, Abode, West Orchard
(there is also a William age 8 who is Buried 12 Feb 1841, Age 8, St Johns,  a Son of William and Elizabeth. Christened 24 Dec 1832)
(Source Familysearch Pilot)

William is possibly the Son of RALF and ELIZ. Christened 03 June 1805, West Orchard Independant, Coventry, Warwick, Birth 09 April 1805.

Ralph LANGSHAW married Elizabeth SUMNER, 18 March 1804, St John, Coventry

Ralph then remarries as a Widower, 26 October 1817, to Elizabeth TAYLOR. She is Single.

1851 Census has a Ralph LANGSHAW born c 1777, Manchester, Lancs, occp Brazier, married to an Elizabeth born c 1781, Cubbington, Warwick, living in Coventry;

Hello
Sorry to bother you but I am new to all of this... I am currently researching my family tree - surname Shrubsole... For some reason your contact came up under the search, but couldn't find anything relevant on your posts?
Apologies if you were not trying to find Shrubsoles of Wandsworth - my great grandfather was John Spencer Shrubsole.. but if you can help in anyway, I would love to hear from you...
Many thanks
