Can anyone help me trying to find more info on these people Lucy Abbott born c1892 Bosford?Basford? Kirkby Nottingham and Jesse Abbott born c 1893 Bosford?Basford? Kirkby Nottingham. Keep hitting a brick wall with my Abbott's any help would be great

Basford is the registration district for BMD's in Kirkby- and covers parts of Nottinghamshire and parts of Derbyshire. It does not mean they were born in Basford town which is approx 10 miles from Kirkby

also in 1901 Pollie (mother's) place of birth is given as Ripley Yorks - in 1891 it is Ripley Derbys -which are 2 different places many miles apart

I will see if I can find Pollie's birth reg (and maiden name)- I suspect she may have been born Ripley Derbys (which is in Belper reg district)

1911 census (which we are not allowed to post details of -copyright issues etc) "Pollie" is using the name "Mary" - you can search the index free

Seems she just married using the name mary Arnott -but she was really mary Ellen Arnott b Ripley Derbys

You may have noticed in 1901 there is an 11 yr old daughter Annie Abbott -but she does not appear with the family in 1891

she was visiting with some of the Arnott family

"Pollie's"maiden name could be Arnott or Amott - it varies from census to census

The transcript I have for Ripley does gives the witnesses to the marriage but the pilotsearch site doesn't give those details.
