Help with profession/occupation
« on: Tuesday 31 August 10 16:09 BST (UK) »
Hi folks,

I've seen the work you wizards do here so would anyone like to clean up/decipher what the words are under the lines that were crossed through the image later please?

The line in question is the one that starts with 'M 70' and ends with 'at Work'. My GGfather was 70 and I believe was retired from the army at 40 and became a Chelsea Pensioner.

Thanks a lot.

HI John,

The last three words will be 'out of work'.

As yet haven't got a clue what the first few are  8)

I'm having trouble with it beginning with a P,but I can see where you're coming from.
I was still thinking that was a C - what on earth are those two dots to the left of the occupation, the straight line underneath and the dash below that line.

Maybe it's the bottom of the P  ???

I've reduced the levels of the black in the ink, hoping this might make it clearer ?
