Hi lambkin,

Welcome to RootsChat !  I hope you enjoy it here as much as everyone else does  :)

One idea is to put them all together in an album and do a write-up about the WLA and your mum's time in it.

If you have a web site or intend having one (HINT, HINT RootsChat free webspace !!) that would be nice theme to put on it.

If you are thinking of other people or organisations, who might like these photos (or copies thereof),
then, There is a thread here http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,23196.0.html
about the Womens Land Army, with several links to various organisations.

Try going through this thread and the links, and seeing if anybody there might be interested.

Good luck,
Bob

Hi Lambkin,

Do you know where your Mom went for her training? My Mom was in the Land Army and did her training in Northampton. I was wndering where your group photos were taken?

Cheers,
India

My mother was based in Hereford, Worcester and Bournville. I have a lovely photo of a group of women by the river in Worcester the bridge is in the background and there are  people milling around. It is quite a large photo as well there are others of the different women in her group.

Hi All
I have a couple of photo's of my mother who was in the Land Army in Essex.
She was in a Land Amy Hostel around the Tiptree and Braxted area. The Hostel name was Littlewoods.
But can't seem to trace it.When she married my father she lived in Great Wigborough,Essex.
There was another Hostel nearby in Peldon, but it's not there now.I know about the records at kew and will have to make a visit. But any info would help from around the area.
I do not know where she done her training ,but do know that she was a tractor driver.
