Hello Joan

When visiting my Grandparents grave in Crosstown cemetery Wexford Town over the w/e I came across the grave of Sarah Murphy which was nearby - headstone attached.

Also not far away was the grave of James Murphy which I'll attach in a separate post.

Hi Joan, I am not sure if you are aware , but the Murphy family of Croke avenue are still residing there, well the grandaughter of Sarah is still there, Its not the original house tho as Croke Avenue was thorn down and re-built. Hope this helps you in some way

This is so spooky!  I used to stay at 34 Wolfe Tone Villas when I was a child visiting Ireland.  My 'Auntie' Lily lived there with her son Michael - this would be in the mid 60s.  I remember there was no electricity upstairs and we had to take a candle to bed.  Michael was a bit older than me so I didn't know him too well but Auntie Lily was a lovely lady.  I think she was, or had been, great friends with my mother who had moved to England but always took me back to visit.  I also remember a John Murphy who lived at 22 Croke Avenue (his nickname was Ogie).  Again, I think he and my mother were good friends and I remember him giving me a little prayer book for my confirmation.  I'm sorry I can't help with the actual genealogy, I'm trying to find out more about my antecedents and its very difficult.  I know that someone connected to my Gran's family lived in Wolfe Tone Villas because I remember visiting them but its such a trawl!  Hope you have better luck than I'm having at the moment.
