Edward ROWITT

Hi everyone,
I am looking for information on my 4x Great Grandfather Edward Rowitt, he was born 1797 Stixwould Lincolnshire Uk. He was transport to Tasmania for his crimes. He was sentenced to 7 years transportation. He left England on 30th April 1833 and arrived in Tasmania 24th August 1833. The only other information I can find is that he married Ann Bostock 10th December 1838. In 1840 Edward was given certificate to say he had served his sentence. Went to mainland Australia to stay. I can't find either of them after their marriage. So any help with both Edward and Ann would be appreciated.

I am not in a postition to help with BMD information in Victoria, but I do see a newspaper item relating to a man of the name EDWARD ROWITT. It appeared in the Victorian newspaper, The Argus.

It tells that he was a witness to an assault which took place in Spring Street MELBOURNE in 1849

Thank you for the information. It does tell me that Edward went to mainland Australia.
I don't know why I can't find anymore information on Edward and his wife Ann eg. death, burial.

I notice that in the Hobart Town Courier, his name appears as Edward Rowett, maybe  this variation in his name may help.

It appears the record shows he is married, with 4 children, wife Sarah ? Stockswool?, Lincoln ?

It seems the son was from his first marriage in England - he immigrated with his family in 1860.  There is a death for an Edward ROWETT in Sydney in 1868.  He is the right age.
