We enjoy sitting and watching the birds as well. So does next doors cat.
Hubby has built a pergola opposite our sunlounge and we hand nuts and seeds from it. a thick Ivy has grown behind it where the birds nest.
We get lots of different varieties, including nuthatch, goldcrest, wrens, bluetits, great tits, chaffinch, green tits, robins (had one feeding its young the other day, never seen that before), usual sparrows, blackbirds, thrush, and one day, I couldn't believe my eyes, but actually saw a woodpecker swinging off the nuts....
The nuts and seeds have brought in the field mice, and they come out of the Ivy and run up the seed containers., pinch some seeds and disappear back into the Ivy.
It's lovely sitting and watching this show every day.
Next doors cat, thinks he's in heaven and sits as still as a rock watching and waiting. We have to keep shooing him off.
Bird watching is a lovely relaxing past time and often quite funny watching the antics the birds get up to.
