Hi There,

Please can someone do a look-up for me, on the birth of Charles Francis McFarling, he was born 1870 in St. Helier, Jersey, C.Is.

The parents were Charles Francis McFarling & Matilda Giffard.

I have them on the 1871 census, St Saviour, Jersey -

McFarlane    Charles  head     24   labourer   Birth: St Helier
                    Matilda    wife    24    laundress     St Helier
                    Adelina    daug    3          -              St Saviour
                    Charles    son     4 mths  -               St Saviour

The reference in the birth register is -
Charles Francis McFarling
St Saviour   1860-1871   page 110

You can order a copy of the birth cert from the Superintendent Registrar,

I will have a look for a baptism record next time I go to the archives - and will try to find more about his parents from the information I have above.

I have found details on the marriage of Charles McFarlane and Matilda Giffard -
St Luke's church, St. Hlier, Jersey,  Vol 1866-1873,  page 3.

You know where to order a copy certificate from!

I have also found a birth -
Matilda Isabella Giffard   Vol.  24.12.1845 - 12.2.1847 page 95

I can't find a match for the birth of Charles McFarlane; the nearest might be -
Charles Macklin  vol. 31.3.1848 - 20.4.1849  page 38.

Hi Gary,

Found this purely by chance. I noticed also you were previously looking for Adeline Mcfarling and her sister Violets Marriage records.
Adeline was my paternal grandmother. I would be very grateful if you are able to make contact with me as I have also been researching the Mcfarling line.
