Hi Denise,
Thanks for your reply.
Annie Atkinson was my Grandmother. Her eldest son Bryan was my dad. I have traced the Ratcliff side of my family back to Stephen Ratcliff in 1799 in Shropshire. I have tried to trace the Atkinson side of the family but come to a brick wall with Annie and Henry's parents in Ireland so I put my post on Rootschat hoping someone could help me out.
Annie has two surviving sons, Colin the youngest and Frank the second eldest who live in England but they can't give me any more information.  Your Grandad Henry and his brother Pat were my Dad's best pals as well as uncles.
It is good to hear from you.
God bless, Tony Agi.

Once you've made 3 posts you'll be able to send agi a PM (personal message) to exchange email addresses and other personal and recent family details which aren't allowed to be posted online.

Below Atkinsons are buried in Portlaoise cemetery and might be of the same family, I found no Atkinson in Abbeyleix.

Rebecca Atkinson; 42, married, Grattan st, 17/11/1932

Joseph Atkinson; 70, OAP, widower, Grattan st, 28/8/1936

also interred in the same plot is
James Templing; 26, harness maker, single, Quality row, 7/1/1904
(he may be related in some way)

Hello Jack,
Thank you so very much for the information and photo you posted in your reply.
We have very little information about our family in Ireland so any information is very much appreciated.
We have written to several churches in and around Abbeyleux but have had no response at all and the Most Holy Rosary Church and Cemetery aren't mentioned in any other information we have.
Thank you so much once again and God bless, Agi.
