Hello and welcome to Rootschat :)
My Joy family is primarily from Brenchley, which is South East of Hadlow, but I have collected quite a bit of information about Joys from Kent during my research.
Who do you have in your tree and what information are you looking for?

Hi Barbara.

John Joy Married Elizabeth Collins in Shipbourn 1794
Children where:

John 1807
William 1803
Marianne 1811

John Married Remillion Collins abt 1834
Children:

William 1834
John 1835
Mary Ann 1838

I'm really looking for the parents of John abt 1773, but also interested in finding any other people that have a connection to my tree, John is my Great * 4 Grandfather.

Hi Barbara,
One of my grandfathers sisters Alice Clara Watkins married a Harold Joy.The Watkins family lived in Brenchley so was wondering if they are in your tree?

Hi Adi
The name Remillion seems familiar but I will need to dig out some old papers and see what I have.

Hi Bulsara
I do have a Harold in my tree, born about 1882.  Is this the right timescale?

I have only traced Harold G Joy to the 1901 census when his occupation was bricklayer and he was living with his parents and numerous siblings in Commercial Road, Paddock Wood.
Have just had a look at Free BMD and see there is a marriage in Tonbridge RD for a Harold G Joy in Sep Q 1910 and that Alice appears on the same page - so I think he is very likely the right Harold!  Also see a birth of a Dorothy A Joy 1911 in Tonbridge RD with mother Watkins.
If he is of interest I can let you have a lot of information about his Joy ancestors - I have a fairly well proven line back to William Joy in the very early 1600s
