Odd's I have right Mary Pugh?
« on: Wednesday 22 September 10 21:59 BST (UK) »
I have found the marriage of my 5 x Gt Grandparents David Prosser and Mary Pugh in Llangunllo, Radnor, Wales 1817. There are a few Mary Pugh's born between 1790 and 1800 and a  few were born in Radnor, but one does stand out on the FamilySearch site: 32. Mary Pugh - International Genealogical Index / BI
Gender: Female Christening: 29 DEC 1793 Llangunllo, Radnor, Wales.

The birth year I have (1797) in my tree is different to the record (1793) but the location of her birth ties in with where she married my gt grandfather David Prosser. Would you be inclined to add this person or would a Marriage cert be the best way to tackle this??

Any help would be great!!

Also David had 400 acres of land in the 1861 census, I wonder what happened to it???

Regards,

LDS also has the marriage of Mary Pugh and David Proseer (Prosser) at Llangunllo on 25 March 1817 but it must be treated with caution as it's a submitted record.

If you can get the Llangunllo marriage details it may help but not necessarily.
There will be no GRO marriage certificate as it is too early.

David may not have owned the land but been a tenant farmer. Any money he had may have been divided amongst his family, and with large families there probably wouldn't be much to pass down the generations!  ;D

You can look up landowners in 1873 on here:

Do you have the Prosser children baptisms in Llanbedr Painscastle, Radnor on LDS between 1822 and 1834?

Hi Morgan,

Taken all that on board and I havent seen the Baptisms, but painscastle rings a bell!!...This is a new venture for me so at an early stage in my research.

Will take everything with a pinch of salt at the moment. I will have a quick browse over it all and see what I find from what you have given me...:)

regards,

Tyrone
