I hope I have contacted you through Jacksdale Community.  As soon as I hear back from you I will send my address.
I would love to accept your offer of Lucy's letters.  I have a photo of the three spinster sisters taken during the war at Dalestorth, with my late husband and his two sisters and their Mother, plus the elusive Angela, but I am afraid I do not know which is which!  I understand that the three children were evacuated there from London.

Hi Wendy

Yes your email has reached me.  How wonderful, we would love to see a photo of the family.  They really intrigued us. Such an intersting history. Their mother and grandmother were teachers, quite an achievement for women in those days.  Do you know anything about the school at Dalesthorth at all?

Attached is a picture of three the Miller sisters and their Aunt, taken during WW2.  Lucy Hope Miller (1887-1978) is on the extreme right.  Margaret Ann Milward Miller (Madge, 1883-1975) is in the middle in uniform.  On her right is Florence Olive Miller (1886-1968).  Their aunt, Florence Grace Storer (1856-1946) is sitting on the bench)

Hi - hope you get to read this as I could really do with some help.  :)
My grandmother was 'in service' at Dalestorth House around 1910-1914; try as I may I cannot find Dalestorth House on the 1911 census and notice in your chat that you have accessed it. Would you mind letting me have the enumeration district and page number please so I can see if she was working there in 1911.
Hope to hear from you soon

Are you using findmypast?  If so, find it under the servant's name Ethel Mary Peacock, age 25, born Derbyshire, Morton.  John Joseph Miller and his wife Mary Victoria and one of their daughters (Alice M age 19) are also there.  Hope this works for you.

I'm looking through Ancestry.co.uk, the searches are different on there.  No worries I can continue my trawl through all of them lol.
Thanks again  :)
