Hi  is anybody else reseraching the couple below....i believe John Price was my great x 4 grandfather and they had a son call John Price around 1811 in Pershore...this son moved to Manchester by 1850.....a record indicates he was christened in 1811 at Holy Cross... trying to prove link as conclusive as i can between my John Price circa 1813 ( from 1851 census ) and the John Price son of John & Esther...any suggestions welcome....

I have just found that my grandfather was born in Holy Cross, Pershore in 1910 and wondered if we have a family link? His mother was Winifred Price and was not married. Son was called Charles Price and he moved to Stockport, Cheshire when he was old enough.

My family of Price (John)  arrived in Hulme  Manchester around 1850 and he married at Manchester Cathedral 1851.

Later down the family line his son married a Winifred Foy who'se family arrived in Hulme from Galway.

No Charles I'm aware of.

Stockport is around 11 miles from Hulme.

My grandad Charles Price doesn't always show up in research as she had him when she was young and unmarried and it was probably kept quiet. He changed his name from Price to Rowbotham when he moved to Manchester area. I am actually from Woodley in Stockport, but live in Arizona now.

Hi,

You could try mapping ALL the PRICE families in the area between 1800 and 1820, using the census, FreeREG (which doesn't mention the baptism), FamilySearch and the Worcestershire Baptism Index https://fhs-online.co.uk/ [pay to view].  That way you should be able to exclude any other John PRICE.

There was one baptised in 1803.

Getting you DNA tested may also help.

I've only been working on my family history about 3 weeks so am going in all directions right now.   Yegvard, I did a DNA test a couple of years ago and it's on my Ancestry.com page, in fact another member on there contacted me pointing out a Price family connection through DNA.
