Welcome to Rootschat.

For reference here's James and sisters in 1901 census- Carrownagork: www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Sligo/Drumfin/Carrownayark/1680020

And here's the 1911 census- Carrownagark:
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Sligo/Drumfin/Carrownagark/753271

The Irish civil registration index and other resources are online so have a look at Introduction to Irish Records-

Sligo Resources are at the top of the Sligo board here.

Also, take a look at posting guidelines for information to help you request help (capitals are considered shouting, details of living people musn't be posted, etc.).

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Following the 1911 Irish consensus, my grandfather James Scanlon and Mary-Ellen Scanlon had three other children.

Hi James, I just saw your replies. Thanks. That would mean your dad would be my first cousin. Regards Helen.
