Hi All,

I too have Lamb interests.

I have Hannah Lamb who married William Dover. Acorrding to the parish records Hannah Dover was buried 27/11/1825 St Michael's Appleby aged 75. That would mean she was born 1750. This is what I know for sure.

I have found a baptism for a Hannah Lamb10/11/1751 Warcop dau William Lamb & Mary Steadman. Brothers are James 1755-1756, Matthias 1753 & Michael 1756-1757.

Could the father William be the son of Thomas Lamb of Sandford?

Any further info would be great.

Regards,

Gillian

Hi, James Lamb(e) appears in the 'Alumni Cantabrigenses' under Lambe, James. He had two children still alive in 1720: James and Isabella. James became mayor of Rye, Sussex, on 14 occasions, having married Martha Grebell in 1717 and his children and relatives went on to dominate the corporation of Rye in the 18tth century. His will can be found by contacting the Cumbrian archives: http://www.archiveweb.cumbria.gov.uk/CalmView/Record.aspx?src=CalmView.Catalog&id=PROB%2f1720%2fWINVX66

I hope this helps.
