stephen Mummery in parish registers in ilse of Sheppey please

hello
i have an ancestor by the name of stephen mummery born  minster sheppey around 1813 ,now we dont know anything about his early life or who his parents are ,all i do know is that he joined the royal navy and coastgaurds in 1830 and eventually settled in holyhead north wales , so if any one can shed light on at least his parents it would be start for me

Hi Leonard :)As far as I can see at the moment the only likely candidates for his parents at Minster IoS are
           Stephen Mummery bn c.1788 and his wife Catherine bn c.1783 .
There arent any other Mummery's shown in Sheppey of the age to be his Parents.

Had a quick look at Minster PR's and can find the baptism of the Stephen Mummery grandarog refers to (23 Dec 1787), but can't find one for a Stephen Mummery born around 1813. In fact all baptisms for Mummery at Minster are in the 18th century, the latest being 1790.

im confused now as you say you cant  find a stephen mummery  born around 1813  , ,as im only going by what is gleamed from census records as to his year of birth and location , as shown in the following extract

He could well have been born at Minster I of S. He could have been baptised in a non comformist church or cahpel or in A Cof E church in another Parish.

Yes, as grandarog say's I couldn't find a baptism rather than a birth, he could well be baptised elsewhere, or perhaps not at all (unlikely for the time) or possibly baptised as an adult.
