Yours of 20th October 2010.

The Irish Times newspaper (edition of 6th April 1865) records the death of John T>Kirkwood (Printer)  while the edition of         16th May 1866 records the death of his daughter Margaret and the edition of 1st October 1867 the death of his son Frank.

My husbands ancestor is Peter(or Patrick) Kirkwood born circa 1836 Ireland. Died 1889 Liverpool. Son of John Kirkwood Engraver and Margaret Poole.  Kirkwood and Son's family originate from Edinburgh not Dublin.  Dublin was their Irish office.  My known Siblings born in Ireland are Jane P, Margaret and Morison H.  Having not found any birth details could your Henry Kirkwood be another sibling?  Kirkwood and Son's are a well known engraver of Scottish Bank Notes, World Globes, Some maps in Thompson Atlas.

Not what your looking for but from the newspapers

In 1847 the Royal Dublin Society, Exhibition of Dublin Manufactures
awarded John Kirkwood 8 Cecilia Street an Honorary Certificate for a Copperplate Printing press.

In 1849 O'Neill and Duggan are advertising themselves as successors to John Kirkwood, Engraver Lithographers and Printers, 8 Cecilia Street and 8 and 9 Dame Street Dublin. They are also advertising the Kirkwood School Atlas engraved on steel by John Kirkwood.
