Tichborne family: help required from experienced genealogist
« on: Thursday 14 October 10 15:08 BST (UK) »
I need some help from an experience genealogist with expertise in 15th and 16th century lines in Kent, Surrey Hampshire.

I am trying to establish the connection of the Tichbornes of Edenbridge/Cowden with the Tichbornes of Hampshire. They are both descended from the Marriage of John Tichborne of Tichborne and Margaret Martin of Edenbridge, Kent, c 1465.

However the published sources disagree somewhat. The Tichborne of Tichborne line is clear enough. But the Edenbridge/Cowden lines are not. The main problems are from about 1470 to 1550 (after that some of the Kent lines are clearer, though not all).

I am writing a book on the whole Tichborne family.

Please contact me if you would relish a challenge!
Tichborne family in South England - and all over the world (Tichborne in Canada and New Zealand; Tichbourne in USA; Tichbon in Australia; ? in Ireland.

ALL most likely descended from 12th Century Tichbornes of Tichborne in Hampshire, UK

Hi Caspar

tichmot hasn't been online here since 2011.

As long as their email address hasn't changed, they should receive a notification that you have posted and hopefully come back soon.
