Bint /Roberts - aboard 'Cape of Good Hope'

Hi there,
Just a quick note wondering if anyone can help with any further info on this family ?
Margaret Helen Bint, born 1882 in Alveley Shropshire married ? Roberts in 1904.
In 1911 she is listed onboard a ship named 'Cape of Good Hope' that has recently come back from South Africa  -

Margaret H Roberts  wife born Alveley 1882 married 8yrs
children listed aboard ship with her-
Frederick Lindon Moses Roberts b 1905 Torpoint, Cornwall
Arthur Reginald Roberts born 1910 b South Africia

Can anyone tell me more about this 'Royal Engineers' Ship ...and was it usual to take your wife and family with you ?
Any help much appreciated
