I am tracking the family history of my great grandad,frank ollinton.
All I know is that grandad came from castlebar and also his wife ellen ralph .They moved to scotland in the early or mid 1920,s.
I have been succesfull with the ralph side of the family but the ollingtons remain a mystery.

I will have to try now to find a relative in ireland.

Strangely enough there are 2 'recent' births in Mayo for RALPH children with mother's maiden name OLLINGTON! (will not post details here as they might still be living)
Search for 'Ollington' as surname and 'Mayo, Ireland' as place then narrow down results by date '1930-1939'
There aren't that many Ollingtons in total so you might want to make a note of them in case you can later connect some of them to your family.

Michael,
Do you have any further information on Ellen Ralph's father Patrick or his siblings? I have been researching my Ralph ancestors from Mayo, one of whom was Patrick Ralph, Watchmaker from Westport (d. pre 1862). The "John's Row" Ralph's have long been a floating data point in my research as there were so few Ralph's in Mayo.

Many Thanks for the census lists Jack. The scottish return looks very interesting as I have a number of other instances in the family of Mayo Tailors working in Scotland around the same time. I'll have to do some more research on that aspect.
