where was mary from??

could someone please help me to look up the PRs of llangower.

mary roberts marryed john richards in llangower in 17/9 /1819.
all i want to no is she from that parish or from somewhere else???

Mary Roberts was of the parish when she married.

Can't that simply mean that Mary was resident in that parish at the time of the wedding, and was possibly from somewhere else originally?

Yes. The residency requirement was/is only 3 weeks .

But we have no other information about her apart from that and Mary Roberts is not the easiest of names to source

Slothbear has been looking for Roberts for a good while - some of them where from Llandegla

i didnt no that someone could be of there parish if they have lived there only for 3 weeks ,i will have to keep that in mind when researching.
it has been a few months since i put this topic up so i will have to look in my file to see what excacly i needed to find out

One of the main problems of tracking her, apart from her name, is that Llangower record keepers kept switching between surnames and patronymics at this time - my ancestors switched from Robert(s) to Ellis 

Slothbear - if you have an approx age  for Mary or any of her children's names, that might help.

One of the witnesses was a Morris Roberts - he signed so could be a Church Warden rather than a relative.
