No.   They are all indexed and held at various major archives centres as well as London but you have to search them there or you can pay for a search at York Probate registry.   See below for more information on all wills.

Just be aware that York Probate Registry have a backlog of work at the moment so if you do order a will you will be in a for a long wait!

I ordered a will nearly 2 months ago and I've just about lost the 'will' to live (excuse the pun ::))  still waiting and still no sign of it yet.  I rang up but you just get a recorded message stating they have a backlog of work!

I live in hope of it eventually turning up on my doormat.

I must have been very lucky when I ordered a will about 20 August.    I went away on 19 September for a week and on my return it was on the doormat.  So took about 4 weeks, but probably 21 working days.  When I ordered one about 4 years ago, it only took about a week, but then they weren't inundated.  They must love Ancestry  ::)

Hi Tina

If you want to post the full name, place and date of death, I can check for you next time I go to Probate at Holborn.

Finally received my will today - at long last!!! :)

Although it doesn't tell me anything more than what I already know :(

Just had a glance at it but I don't think the info I wanted is showing on the will i.e. son's name.

Back to the drawing board for me!! :(
